Rancho Park Rotary Club Scholarship

With preference to students of Iranian/Persian descent who will be rising seniors in AY 2025-26 and who carry a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and can demonstrate financial need, the Rancho Park Rotary Club Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 to provide scholarship support for UCLA College undergraduates. Preference will also go to those students who have participated in community service.

Selection Criteria:

  1. The student must demonstrate financial need.
  2. The student should have a grade point average of 3.0 or above.
  3. Preference will be given to students of Iranian/Persian descent.
  4. Preference will be given to fourth year students.
  5. Preference will be given to those students who have participated in community service.

    • Are you currently involved in, or during your time at UCLA have you been involved in, at least one community service activity?
    • If you are involved in community service, or have been, please briefly describe your role(s) and the timeline(s) of your involvement.
  2. Senior Status
    • Are you entering your senior year at UCLA in the upcoming academic year?
    • Do you expect this next academic year to be your final undergraduate academic year at UCLA?
  3. Have you filed the FAFSA or Dream Act Application?
  4. Write an essay that details your record of community service. How would this scholarship help you enhance that record and achieve your future goals?
  5. Please upload a current resume that focuses on your community service record.
  6. Please write a 150-word bio in third person that summarizes your key community service experiences and includes a brief statement of intended major/minor and current career goals.
  7. LETTER OF REFERENCE: Please provide the name and email of someone (not a peer or family member) who will provide a letter of reference on your behalf that speaks to your leadership qualities and consistent commitment to community service. If the recommender can also speak to your activities or involvements related to any Persian/Iranian communities, that would be a plus, though not necessary. Be sure to obtain permission from your recommender before submitting their name and email address. Your recommender will automatically receive a link prompting them to upload the recommendation via the UCLA Scholarship Portal.
