Edna Teller & Eliot Bean Scholarship Fund

The Edna Teller & Eliot Bean Scholarship Fund was established in June 2022 to To give financial support to UCLA undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need. The donors wish to have an impactful award for a student who identifies as part of the African American community or other traditionally underrepresented communities. The donors also wish for the recipient to identify as formerly incarcerated and/or justice system-impacted. The recipient will receive the scholarship for up to four years, and/or until completion of their degree. The amount will be determined by the Financial Aid office. If a recipient needs up to four quarters off, they would be eligible for the funds upon return to the university. If their quarters off exceed four, they would need to reapply to continue their scholarship.

Note: UCLA administers all identity-conscious financial aid and scholarships in compliance with federal, state, and university regulations by using a “pool and match” application process for unrestricted awards, identity-conscious awards, and other restricted awards (major, need, community service, etc.). Identity-conscious awards may include a preference for a student’s race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, color, ethnicity, or national origin. The pooled application process allows students to submit a single “general” application to be considered for multiple scholarships, and are used in determining the source of a recipient’s aid, but NOT their eligibility, receipt, or amount of financial aid.
