Antonio David Blanco Scholarship Fund
The Antonio David Blanco Scholarship Fund was established in 1984 to provide scholarships for junior-level students in the Department of Film, Television and Digital Media.
Two recipients will be selected to receive a scholarship based on the following minimums: $4,000 – undergraduate California resident $6,000 – undergraduate non-resident $6,000 – graduate California resident $6,000 – graduate non-resident The two recipients must be junior-level students who will receive the Blanco Scholarship for a succession of four years, assuming acceptance in the Department of Film and Television for graduate study.
In addition, any remaining surplus shall be used for a minimum of two annual Thesis award in the amount of $9,000 or more for students in the Master of Fine Arts Directing program. Finalists and recipients will be selected by a faculty committee chosen by the Chairperson of the Department of Film and Television and will be reviewed by Mr. and Mrs. Blanco and/or representatives of the Antonio David Blanco Scholarship Fund.
Candidates must: (1) Be a Theater Arts major, (2) Demonstrate professional promise, (3) Be a registered undergraduate with a GPA of 3.0 or greater, (4) Student must demonstrate financial aid. One of the two recipients must qualify in the following manner in this priority order (1) Native-born Venezuelan, (2) Native-born Latin American, (3) If no applicant meets the above-mentioned qualifications, then the best available student should be selected without regard to nationality. Recipients of the Blanco Scholarship will be awarded monies for a succession of four years, assuming acceptance in the Department of graduate study. Announcement of recipients shall be made in the Spring Quarter of each year by the Department of Film and Television."
