Lear Siegler Scholarship Engineering Fund

The Lear Siegler Scholarship Engineering Fund was established in 1987 to support scholarships in engineering. All scholarships are to be renewable at the next class level upon satisfactory achievement.

  • Recipients will be selected by priority, from the following courses of study: Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science.
  • Recipients must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • Recipients are to be U.S. citizens.
  • Preference to students who are a member of one of the following student groups: AISES (American Indian Science & Engineering Society), NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers), PIE (Pilipinos in Engineering), SOLES (Society of Latino Engineers & Scientists), or are working in other ways to build communities that support diversity in engineering.

Note: UCLA administers all identity-conscious financial aid and scholarships in compliance with federal, state, and university regulations by using a “pool and match” application process for unrestricted awards, identity-conscious awards, and other restricted awards (major, need, community service, etc.). Identity-conscious awards may include a preference for a student’s race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, color, ethnicity, or national origin. The pooled application process allows students to submit a single “general” application to be considered for multiple scholarships, and are used in determining the source of a recipient’s aid, but NOT their eligibility, receipt, or amount of financial aid.
