Merage Scarry Art Award
To provide student support for juniors and seniors in the Department of Art pursuing their undergraduate degrees.
The Merage Scarry Art Award will be awarded annually to four undergraduate students in the art department who show exceptional promise
and talent as determined by the school’s scholarship faculty committee and the chair of the art department. Students working in all
disciplines and mediums within the art department will be considered.
Sophomores and juniors will be eligible to apply for the award beginning the winter quarter of 2022, with the award funds available to
support their status as juniors and seniors in the coming fall quarter of 2022. The award process will follow the same timeline in subsequent
years- student applications will be submitted in the winter with funding to be available in the fall.
In applying for the award, students will submit a CV, artist statement, and 3-5 images of recent work. Understanding that a student may not
know what their final project will consist of for the following year, the year-end project proposal will be an optional submission for the
application. These materials, along with the school’s scholarship faculty committee review of a student’s overall talent and merit, will be
used to evaluate and determine the awardees.
