C. Wright Mills UEC Scholarship

C. Wright Mills UEC Award
The department will award a Scholarship in the amount of $350 to a graduating senior.

Eligibility Criteria
Recipients of the C. Wright Mills scholarship are selected based on strong academic achievement and evidence of developing a sociological imagination. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

-Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA
-Be a currently enrolled sociology major at the time of application
-Be a graduating student at the time of application submission

Application Instructions
In an essay of no more than 500 words, describe how the perspective you developed as a Sociology major has shaped your understanding of the world, including how your personal experiences connect to broader social structures. Also explain how the major will help you advance in your anticipated career. Please include a current resume with your application.

Evaluation and Announcement of Winner
A faculty committee will evaluate applications in the weeks following the deadline listed above. The scholarship award winner will be notified by late Spring Quarter.
