Florence Itkin Scholarship
Incoming LA or Orange County public high school graduates majoring in one of the following subjects — English, History, Economics, Political Science, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics, Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology, Physiological Science, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry Earth and Space Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy OR undergraduate students in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science in any Engineering major — receive preference for the Florence Itkin Scholarship.
The scholarship is renewable through the recipient’s fourth year at UCLA, assuming good academic standing and compliance with the following additional scholarship requirements:
(1) signing and submitting the Statement of Intent to Register at UCLA,
(2) scheduling and attending all required quarterly scholarship appointments with the Executive Director of the Center for Scholarships & Scholar Enrichment, and
(5) completing and uploading annually an updated letter of thanks for the donor.

- Please upload official or unofficial copies of all your high school transcripts (if you are an entering freshman) or of all your community college transcripts (if you are entering as a transfer junior).
- Please write a 150-word bio in third person that summarizes your key academic interests and experiences and includes a brief statement of your intended major/minor and current career goals.
- Please provide the name and email of an instructor, counselor or administrator who will provide a letter of reference on your behalf. Be sure to obtain permission from your recommender before submitting their name and email address. Your recommender will automatically receive a link prompting them to upload the recommendation via the UCLA Scholarship Application system. Inform your recommender there should be no punctuation in the file name other than that automatically added for file extensions such as .pdf, .doc and the like. The system will not accept any upload where the file name has punctuation. It is best to use letters only.
