LATINO ALUMNI NETWORK TBDSA (ULAA Safer at Home)

The ULAA Safer at Home Award was originally established in June 2020 by the UCLA Latino Alumni Association to provide scholarships for students during the pandemic who demonstrated community engagement with or service to the LatinX community. After students returned to campus, the remaining funds were transitioned to support a True Bruin Distinguished Scholar Award (TBDSA) for seniors who have demonstrated a history of this same service.

Awards will be made by Financial Aid and Scholarships each spring for the upcoming academic year, based on applicant responses on the True Bruin Distinguished Scholar application. Please complete the optional sections of the general application on service, to be considered.

Note: UCLA administers all identity-conscious financial aid and scholarships in compliance with federal, state, and university regulations by using a “pool and match” application process for unrestricted awards, identity-conscious awards, and other restricted awards (major, need, community service, etc.). Identity-conscious awards may include a preference for a student’s race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, color, ethnicity, or national origin. The pooled application process allows students to submit a TBDSA application to be considered for multiple scholarships, and are used in determining the source of a recipient’s aid, but NOT their eligibility, receipt, or amount of financial aid.
