The Center for Community Engagement Summer Internship Award (2026)
Overview
The Center for Community Engagement offers $1,700 scholarships to support students participating in unpaid summer internships. This award helps increase access to experiential learning, support career development, and offset financial barriers.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following:
● Be a current UCLA undergraduate in good academic standing with at least 90 units
● Be eligible to enroll in a 4-unit 195CE internship course during Summer Session A10 (June 22 – August 28, 2026)
● Be available for 8–10 hours of internship work per week, in addition to coursework
● Enroll in a 195CE course by June 5, 2026 (funds will not be disbursed until enrollment is confirmed)
● Have secured, or be in the process of securing, an unpaid internship with a:
○ nonprofit organization
○ government agency
○ social enterprise
(Priority given to internships in California; international internships are not eligible)
● By early June (disbursement period):
○ Accept an internship offer lasting at least 8 weeks within Summer Session A10
○ Provide an offer letter confirming the internship
Application Process
You do not need a confirmed internship at the time of applying, but you must submit your offer letter before funds are disbursed.
Application materials include:
1. Internship details (including job/position description)
2. Resume
3. Short responses covering: a. Do you intend to enroll into a 195CE internship course? (Students must be enrolled in a 195CE course by June 5, 2026 to receive the award).
b. In which city and state is your internship located?
i. Please provide the physical address of your internship site.
c. Please describe how your internship relates to your career and/or academic interests.
Include any specific fieldwork or research interests you may have.
i. How did you find your internship?
ii. What is the length of the internship? (It must be at least 8 weeks within Summer
Session A10: June 22, 2026 – August 28, 2026.)
iii. Describe your internship, including your role, responsibilities, and expected
weekly hours.
iv. Please upload an attachment of the position or internship job description.
d. Please provide your reasons for pursuing internship funding.
Note: If your internship changes after applying, you must submit updated information for review.
Funding may be adjusted or withdrawn.
Awardee Responsibilities
Recipients must:
● Enroll in and complete a summer 195CE course
● Submit a post-internship reflection, including a short video and photo
● Write a thank-you note to the donor
● Participate in CCE events
Submitted materials may be used to support future program funding.
