Suzan and Terry Kramer Centennial Endowment for International Internships

The Suzan and Terry Kramer Centennial Endowment for International Internships was established in 2017 by to support undergraduate students engaged in qualified international internship experiences. The UCLA International Institute will ensure a minimum of three scholarships are awarded per year. Specific amounts will be based on the unique needs and requirements of employers and students.

  • Students must be qualified to receive financial aid according to FAFSA criteria .
  • Students must have a a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need, prior academic and professional performance, and may also include the following additional selection criteria:

  • Students who identify their own internships. Students taking part in an internship course that includes academic credit are also eligible. Students participating in an internship arranged through a third-party company will not be excluded but will be given lowest priority during the selection process.
  • Students undertaking internships that align with their post- UCLA career interests and those participating in leadership-oriented roles, positioning them for post-college leadership roles regardless of field.

Internship fundraising will be ideally designated for unreimbursed transportation and housing expenses, with the student’s employer paying a salary/stipend. Unpaid internships will be considered in unique circumstances (e.g. nonprofit and public agencies).

The UCLA International Institute will actively manage this program in coordination with a faculty advisory committee . It will ensure that the work experience students are taking part in is meaningful, and that the students’ professional experience and the needs of the hiring company meet the objectives identified above.

To ensure desired “multiplier effect” of scholarship, a reception will be held at least once a year to introduce scholarship recipents to mentors, prospective future donors and employers along with Terry and Suzan Kramer
