Byron Holland Scholarship

The Byron Holland Scholarship was established in 1964 by Laura Holland who died in 1963 and left the bulk of her estate to establish the Byron Holland fund to honor her husband. Byron Holland was a Sacramento machine shop operator who died in 1955. Mrs. Holland visited the UCLA campus in 1935 and decided to bequeath part of her estate because she “wanted to do something for young people.” The scholarship was set up to support UCLA students worthy of the scholarship.
