C. Wright Mills UEC Scholarship

C. Wright Mills UEC Award
The department will award a Scholarship in the amount of $500 to a graduating senior.

Eligibility Criteria
Recipients of the C. Wright Mills scholarship are selected based on strong academic achievement and evidence of developing a sociological imagination. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

- Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Be a currently enrolled sociology major at the time of application
- Be a graduating student at the time of application submission

Application Deadline
To be considered, applications must be received by no later than April 19, 2024.

Application Instructions
In an essay not to exceed 500 words (2 double-spaced pages), describe how the perspective you have developed in the UCLA Sociology major has influenced how you understand the world, as well as how you expect that the Sociology major will help you to advance in your anticipated career.

Evaluation and Announcement of Winner
A faculty committee will evaluate applications in the weeks following the deadline listed above. The scholarship award winner will be notified by late Spring Quarter.
