Kerry Ferris and Jill Stein Real World Scholarship in Sociology
The department will award a scholarship in the amount of $2500.

Eligibility Criteria
The Kerry Ferris and Jill Stein Real World Scholarship was established in July 2020 to support undergraduate scholarships for incoming transfer students in the UCLA Department of Sociology who face real world challenges.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

- Be a recently admitted transfer student declared as Pre-Sociology or Sociology at the time of application
- Experience a real world challenge. These include, but are not limited to, being first generation college students, veterans, and/or single parents, among other challenges.

Application Deadline
To be considered, applications must be received by no later than September 1, 2023.

Evaluation and Announcement of Winner
A faculty committee will evaluate applications in the weeks following the deadline listed above. The scholarship award winner will be notified before the start of Fall quarter.
