Edie and Lew Wasserman Alumni Need Grant

The Edie And Lew Wasserman Scholars Endowment was established in 1994 by the Wasserman Foundation to provide need-based grants up to $5,000 for current Alumni Scholars in the upcoming academic year. Other Alumni Need Grants are available, as well. All Alumni Scholars with demonstrated need are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a current Alumni Scholar completing your first-, second- or third-year at UCLA.
  • Must be enrolled full-time (Minimum of 12 units per quarter) for the upcoming academic year at UCLA.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 36 units in the past year (Minimum of 12 units per quarter) at UCLA by the end of spring quarter.
  • Must have applied for FAFSA/DREAM and received need-based financial aid that includes subsidized loans, and/or work-study.
  • Must have completed your 30 hours of renewal service, including 10 at UCLA, in the past year. (Confirmation will be provided by George Brown)
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA (While a 3.0 GPA is required for Wasserman, other Alumni Need grants using this application only require a 2.0 GPA {satisfactory academic progress}, but you must meet the remaining requirements)

Note:
Incoming Alumni Scholars DO NOT need to apply for these need-based awards, but will be awarded automatically based on their FAFSA or DREAM application. You WILL need to apply after your first year.
